Student End-of-Year Disconnection of Telecommunications Services

23 April 2003

Before you graduate or take a well-earned summer break...

We encourage you to disconnect your telecommunications services and save time, money, and hassles. Many of the telecommunications services for which you had to visit our office to disconnect, can now be conveniently processed online using our Customer Online Access (COLA).

If you still need to visit us, the CNS Student Telecommunications office is located in Room 120 of the Student Services Building; we are open from 8:00am-12 Noon and from 1:00pm-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. You may contact us via e-mail at or call us at (540)231-3000.

Off-Campus Students

* If you have been living off-campus and are graduating and leaving the area, or if you are a returning student and do not anticipate using the service next semester, make sure you have discontinued any telecommunications service (i.e., VT Modem Pool, Wireless, etc.) so that you will not continue to receive a bill. Remember to verify and make any applicable changes to update your address information for your final bill. If you are graduating, we encourage you to review the policies governing your VT PID.

* Scan the “The Communicator Newsletter” for useful service-related information. (This newsletter is updated every semester).

On-Campus Students

* If you are graduating or do not anticipate living on campus next semester you might want to consider opening a Virginia Tech Modem Pool account for access to the university's network and the Internet. If so, COLA can help. Or, visit the CNS Student Telecommunications office. Be sure to bring your Hokie Passport with you! Scan the The Communicator Newsletter for useful service-related information. (This newsletter is updated every semester).

Pay your bill electronically!

* Returning students may want to consider Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and never miss a payment! CNS offers an easy way for to pay
telecommunications bills electronically. EFT will automatically deduct the amount of your telecommunications bill from a checking account each month.
