Important Notice For Virginia Tech Student
Long Distance Customers

Under a new, simplified rate structure, all direct-dialed long distance calls placed from residence halls on and after July 1, 1999 will be billed at a flat rate of $0.15/minute, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This rate applies to all calls that can be dialed using an area code including those to Canada and most areas of the Caribbean.

International toll calls (those requiring 011 and Country Code) will continue to be billed using tariffed rates. However, these rates will be discounted by 18%. (Bill Designation: * = International Calls)

Charges for Directory Assistance Calls will be billed to the user telephone number, as billed by the telephone company. Local: $0.29; Long-distance within the U.S.: $1.40; Canadian directory assistance: $1.00.

Our billing system has been updated to reflect the new rate structure. Your August 1, 1999 billing statement will reflect calls billed at the new rate. If you have any questions, please contact CNS Student Telecommunications personnel at 1-3000 or by email at stunet@vt.edu.
